Venus & Apoll’s philosophy centers on the balance of body, soul, and spirit alike. We are convinced that the effects of decorative cosmetics can be unfolded more sustainably when accompanied by the equilibrium of both body and soul. Indeed, beauty and harmony maintain an intimate relationship.
For this reason, we offer a selection of body treatments. This also includes massages, which we offer as either a full body massage or a back massage.
Massage origins
Massages are among mankind’s earliest remedies. They reached Europe via Greece where they were practiced by the physician Hippocrates. In Ancient Rome, they were used to treat gladiators, among others. At this point, we lose track of the technique of massage as a cure until this method was rediscovered by Paracelsus and Ambrois Paré for post-operative rehabilitation therapy.
Modern massage
Modern massage techniques such as rubbing, pressing, flexing, chopping (or hacking), and petrissage were originally developed in Sweden. It was not until the end of the 19th century that massage was introduced in Germany as a medical therapy.
